Live Betting Service FAQS

Trading

How many days per week does trading take place?

Trading can take place on average 5-6 days per week but occasionally it will be less and occasionally we will trade 7 days in a week. If you do your own trading you have the right to trade as few or as many days per week as you like.

How is the live betting page address sent to me each day?

The link for the live betting page is sent the day prior by 9pm (AEST) to your nominated email address for each day we trade. If you have not received the live betting page link address by 9am (AEST) on the day you have requested trading you must email info@fromthehorsesmouth.com.au by 10am (AEST) on the day of trading to let us know you have not received it. If you do not email then we consider you have received the link for trading fine.

How often is the Live Trading page updated?

The live betting page is updated consistently during the course of the day, there is an automatic refresh built into each trading page where it will refresh every 2 minutes, selections are added as a minimum one hour before the race they are in jumps. If a race jumps at 3.30pm you can expect the page to be updated for that race by 2.30pm. Generally as a minimum races are loaded live well before the 1 hour cut off. We use an incremental staking sequence when trading that is derived from the confidence associated to each selection, this means outlays for each selection are loaded as a minimum 20 minutes before a race jumps. If a race jumps at 2.00pm you can expect the live trading page to be updated with the outlay for that race by 1.40pm at the latest. Generally outlays are loaded well before the 20 minute cut off.

What bookmaker / betting agency should I be using to place my bets?

You can choose to use any betting agency / bookmaker / betting exchange you wish. To maximise your profitability you can use www.ausbet.com.au. Through our comparison study of Bookmakers vs Betfair vs traditional Tabs we have found that by using Ausbet you get the best return on your dollar compared to time required to get the best odds, especially when taking into account the betting model used on Betfair and having to wait for most markets to form strong liquidity, especially on Australian racing.

What do the ratings in brackets (1-4) mean at the end of each horses name on the Live Betting trading pages?

When our analysts assess a race they come up with a confidence rating from 1 to 4 with 1 being the lowest and 4 being the highest for each horse based on its overall price in the race they are entered into. Each price is relevant to a price we expect to bet about the runner.

Scale for ratings is as follows

  • Level (1) - queries exist from numerous angles but looks a serious winning chance and warrants respect - confidence is good - value price is 5.00 or 4/1.
  • Level (2) - a few queries exist from different angles but clearly looks the best horse and is suited by the conditions ticking a lot of boxes - confidence is very good - value price is 3.20 or 9/4
  • Level (3) - one or two minor queries exist, outside of this looks the winner from every other angle - confidence is high - value price is 2.35 or 11/8.
  • Level (4) - either no one one seen query exists and only to a very minor degree, looks clearly above its foes from all angles - confidence is extremely high - value price is 2.00 or 1/1.

What Is the Twitter Feed all about that is displayed on pages on the website?

We use Twitter for numerous reasons, the main reason is to act as a time stamping tool so that people can identify when we post new information to the FREE areas of our site like Analytical Angles and Two Horse Wars. By following our Twitter Feed you are kept up to date with exactly what we are doing and gain access to all the best FREE betting information we produce.

Why do we give away so much FREE information on services like Analytical Angles and Two Horse Wars?

Areas of our site like Analytical Angles and Two Horse Wars have been designed for one reason primarily, to give new site users further insight to how good we are at what we do. It is a fine balancing act to work out exactly how much good quality betting information to give away for FREE but the bottom line is that it must be done especially in this age when there is so many crap services on the market that lay claims to greatness. By following the FREE info on our site you will quickly see how passionate and knowledgeable we are when it comes to finding winners and producing high quality betting information. No other site on the internet that we know of gives away so much high quality information for FREE. We do not use a set criteria to work out which of our bets and selections to give away for FREE, it merely comes down to when we get the time to do a write up or feel like putting up some FREE tips we do so. Some days it will be our best bets, other days it will only be a selection of our level (1) quality selections. There have been plenty of occasions where we have highlighted more than a 50% strike rate of winners on Analytical Angles, there is also plenty of occasions where we have gone 10 bets without a winner in a row on Analytical Angles. There is also plenty of times we have highlighted winners above 20/1 on Two Horse Wars. The best way to keep up to date with what we do and see how good we are is check our site each day.

How come results for services are sometimes up to a month behind?

Our major focus is on backing winners and finding winners take up a lot of our time, there is plenty of times we start at 9am and finish the next day at 4am and then are back at it again at 9am, that is the sort of hours you have to pull to be successful in this game. Results are secondary in our books, we update results as soon as physically possible when we get a spare day here and there. It is not a priority, the priority is finding winners for our members, which is the way it should be. Anyone can draft up a portfolio of great results and say "Look how good we are", we prefer to produce the winners and then update results when we can, if you are looking at joining you must take into account what we have done long term, instead of relying on past results check out how good we are by looking at the depth of FREE information we produce on a daily basis and how dedicated it is. As we have said before, no one in this industry produces as much high quality information as we do for FREE. we do it for one reason, to show you, the end user how serious we are about winning.
