Welcome to Analytical Angles ...... All information in this area of our site is provided for FREE as a general guide to the quality of information we produce for members. We preview only a sample of our picks here, the rest are kept for members only which are issued through our Live Betting Service. Use this area of our site to see which runners we have highlighted as major winning chances via an angle of their form that stands out in comparison to their foes. Generally good value can be expected as the angle is usually unexposed to the average punter.

Selections are posted live to this section of the site as the information comes to hand. Selections may be added to this section at any time during the course of the day but generally selections should mostly be available for this service before the 1st advertised jump time each day. The selections / betting tips issued in this part of our web site will mainly cover Australian horse racing but we will also issue selections here periodically for USA horse racing, UK horse racing, New Zealand horse racing, Hong Kong horse racing and Singapore horse racing.

Race Detail

Bendigo R3 No8 Spurlash (1) - on exposed form Shadow Land looks the obvious top elect here but the value angle around the unexposed Spurlash is hard to ignore, comes into this 2nd up from a spell and exposed form suggests it handles wet tracks fine including a 0.1l 2nd under trial conditions behind Miss Extravagant prior to debut last preparation, put a big 6l margin back to 3rd that day, came out at 2nd career start and finished 2l 3rd to Clearway over 1300m on this track making up big headway from off the pace in an effort that rates clearly above the level required to win here, only mediocre 1st up this prep behind Zantelagh but fitter now and looks well placed here trying 1400m for the 1st time, likely good value, warrants respect as the likely value commodity.

Rockhampton R3 No3 Kegney (2) - ships north from Victoria on the back of numerous solid placings last prep against clearly stronger than it faces here, won a 4 horse trial at Yeppoon by 5.3l in prep for this race, has a lot of early speed and should be able to cross them from the wide gate and control a likely even pace without working too hard early, if it gets the leadd as expected it will prove hard to run down over this 970m scamper.

Race Detail

Sandown R2 No2 Sparks Fly (3)
- well bred type by Flying Spur out of the Spartacus mare Dual Spark, comes into this 1st up from a spell and 1st up form reads very well, 1st up last prep finished 1.6l 3rd at Group 3 level behind Romneya, exposed form out of that race is simply stronger than anything else in this race, the major query seems to be the pace scenario as it will get back, other query is no form on wet tracks, if the conditions were better we would not hesitate making this a level 3 selection but with the queries in play we keep it to a level 2 rating. With the major query runner Zauberin now scratched this increases to a level (3) rating.

Canterbury R2 No7 Kimberley Kid (1) - this is a very smart field for the advertised class with the likes of Griffon and Nightofthegeneral also engaged along with Kimberley Kid, the big factor for us is the weight that both Griffon and Nightofthegeneral have to give away to Kimberley Kid after the claim for Josh Adams, Kimberley Kid gets in here with only 50kgs and on the back of running a close up 1.4l 5th to Winter King in a very hot $100K Qlty at Rosehill 1st up that does seem a luxury weight despite taking on older horses, it is bred purely for speed by Johannesburg out of a Shovhog mare and looks likely to get a good trip tracking a fast pace with so much other speed engaged, with only 50kg on its back it will be flashing huge pars at the business end and may prove hard to hold out.

Canterbury R4 No5 Neeson (3) - decently bred type by Mossman out of the Don't Forget Me mare Favorite Actress, comes into this 2nd up from a spell tasking on older horses for the 1st time on the back of finishing 4th btn 1l in $70K 3yo company behind Winter King, carrier 59kg that day and clearly rated the best out of that race, form since strong with the winner Winter King making it 2 on end next start defeating a hot field for a $100K purse including Honest Truth and The Mikado, 2nd up now Neeson is fitter and drops 5.5kg on that run, likely to get a perfect trip with the run of the race or may even lead if they don't go too hard early, prior to that good 1st up effort finished 1.2l 3rd to O'Lonhro under trial conditions, form from last prep also reads well above the level required to win here, clearly the only one in this race with more scope vs sprinters who are past their best.

Balaklava R2 No11 Waikiki Girl (2) - decently bred for speed by Iglesia out of the Red Anchor mare Honolulu, comes into this 1st up from a spell off a 63 day let up, go on 1st career start 2 back when 3rd btn 2.1l by Kelly Royale at Morphettville over 1000m, looks a strong form race with 2nd, 4th and 6th home that day all winning very quickly after, also put a good margin back to 4th adding very good depth to the form of the first 3 home, drawn a wide gate here but has good gate speed and should be able to cross them without working too hard early, overall depth of form surrounding the rest of the field not that great, if it finds the front without working too hard early it should prove overly difficult to hold out.

Race Detail

Warrnambool R5 No1 Nato (2) - with the rail out 5m here the inside should be the place to be which is an advantage for Nato who is drawn down on the rails, shapes as a race in 2 between Nato and I Love Rubies, Nato is still fairly lightly raced and looks to be at the top of his game now on the back of winning last start at Cranbourne over 1200m, drops in class here and carries the same weight as he did winning last start, very good form last 2 preparation well above this grade including being placed at G3 level as a 2yo behind Exceedingly Good and 1.7l 3rd to Eclair Fantastic last prep, only needs to get a split as to figure here at the business end as will go back and be ridden for luck which is its general racing pattern, has a clear weight pull over I Love Rubies of approx 4.5kg despite giving it 3kg here with form line provided through Endofthetunnel.
